Welcome to our dive masters training team, those is joining us for few months!

Diego Marcelo Tato

Comments from Dive Master Training :

Manu & Sirid :

"Hi, we are Sirid and Manu, a french-german couple. We are both in love with diving. To up-grade our skills – to become instructors on day – we were looking for a place to do our Dive-master formation. Quit honestly and also literally, we wanted to dive into another world. That´s why we´ve choosen Gili Trawangan. You will see and feel what we mean, once you will arrive on this amazing island. We found DSM, a French center, what was good for Manu, because he wanted to do this formation in his own language and what was good for me as well, because I wanted to learn his language. With DSM we had the chance to be in the water every day. We profited from the experiences of the whole staff and we took some good ideas from the left and ones from the right to create our own style. But learning to be a Divemaster is not just going diving. It´s also to know all the business that is around it. DSM is a young center with a small structure and that´s why we got deeply involved in the daily life and we learned a lot. We had the best diving instructor we could imagine, Hadi! And finally we were part of DSM for 5 month, although we planned to stay just for 2."

Joanna :

Dive Sites in Gili's Islands

Among the 16 sites which we visit around the Gili islands, the majority are adapted for all divers, but some require a certification Open Water or Advanced Open Water.

Dive Site in Gili's

Shark Point

Is one the best places for finding sharks in Gilis. The site consists of different level (24m, 20m, 18m), and start with a slope of hard and soft corals. The site is also home to Green and Hawksbill turtles and usually Snapper, Trevally and often Barracuda.

Manta Point

In the rainy season, when the water is rich of plankton, this dive site gives you the best chance to see Manta Rays. But divers still have chance to see white-tip sharks and will usually find turtles, as well as some other big fish like Tuna and Dog Tooth Tuna.

Coral Fan Garden

The first few meters are like being in an aquarium – school of coloured Fairy Basslets, Fusiliers, Banner Fish, and deeper, around the big coral and stone blocks, are groupers, Batfish, Trumpet Fish, hiding Octopus, and Bearded Scorpion Fish.

Deep Sponge Coral

At 30m this site has a sandy bottom between large sea mounds. You'll find a good variety of corals and some huge sea fans. Thousands of garden eels cover the sandy bottom and barracuda, leopard sharks and giant rays can also be seen here.

Frogfish Point

To the east of Gili Air, is famous for macro and rarities. A huge coral block from 5-18m welcomes you. There are a lot of sandy areas where the Garden Eels let off steam, and corals are overgrown with Anemone and their Clownfish. You can also see Ghost Pipefish, Frogfish and a lot of Scorpion Fish.

Biorock

It is a great place to see what the Gili Eco Trust is doing to preserve our reef. We put in a total of 8 artificial reefs that have attracted a variety of marine life.

Bounty Wreck

A floating platform which sunk several years ago has grown lots of coral and made this dive site very popular! A nice dive while looking for the favorites the Gili Islands has to offer.

Meno Wall

A beautiful wall dive on the west of Gili Meno, consisting of 2 separate walls ranging in depth from 5 to 20 meters. After variety of anemone corals and reef fish, you reach the first wall, which is commonly populated by various Sweetlips, Moorish Idol, Moray Eels. Butterfly Fish and Clown Fish also live here.
