Lombok : Lombok is considered as the sister island of Bali, situated just east of Bali. Lombok is quite often described as how Bali used to be 10 years ago. Lombok is a wonderful island untouched by most development and mass tourism with beautiful landscapes and peaceful atmosphere.

Gili Trawangan : Gili trawangan is a small island located between Bali and Lombok. Gili Trawangan is well known for their amazing dive sites that can be enjoyed from beginner to experienced diver. Well known by backpackers, Gili Trawangan offers a young, vibrant lifestyle for those seeking a thriving nightlife scene and back to relaxing, lazy days in our year round sunny weather.

Stay on Gili Trawangan and enjoy the laid-back tropical island and backpacker feeling. Gili T. is a small island with splendid white sand beaches and turquoise-blue water, drinks of young coconuts in a hammock and fresh fish grilled on the night market.

Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the Gili islands, so you can fully unwind in the calmness. The Gili islands are surrounded by marvellous reefs and crystal clear waters.

The turtle sanctuary on the Gili make the Gili the place to be to see turtles in Indonesia. You can easily observe those gracious animals while diving around Gili Trawangan.

The dry season is from May to October with only little rain during these months. The wet season lasts from November to April, although rain does not fall every day and does not usually last all day when it does rain. Gili Trawangan as the benefit to be an Island and offer even during the wet season because it's location a more sunny weather than Lombok or Bali

High seasons are mainly during the European summer holidays (July to mid-September and Christmas holidays) and major holidays such as Easter, Nyepi Bali, Idul Fitri and school holidays. During the peak seasons many hotels have high occupancy and you should expect to pay peak rates for accommodation, tours, etc. We advise to book your hotel and diving longer time in advance to do not experience disappointment. Gili Trawangan like all island is a bit more expensive than the main land, everything is imported from the coast but this is the idea of a small island. Right ?

How to get to Gili Trawangan

From Bali :
From the international airport of Denpasar, Bali, you can get a transfer usually on car first to Padangbay and on speed to Gili Trawangan. There are connection all along the coast of Bali where you can do the transfer on speed boat directly to Gili.

From Lombok :
From the international airport of Lombok Bandara International Airport, you can get a transfer on car to the pear of Bangsal where you can take the local ferry to go to Gili Trawangan. A lot of speed boat are also available from Senggigi to Bangsal to reach Gili Trawangan.

How to get to Lombok

From Bali :
From the International Airport of Denpasar, Bali, you can get a transfer usually on car first to Padangbay and on speed to Gili Trawangan. There are connection all along the coast of Bali where you can do the transfer on speed boat directly to Lombok. You can also take a slow ferry to go to Lombok but it take ages and have no interest. You can also from the international ariport of Denpasar, Bali, jump on direct fligh to Lombok Internantional Airport of Lombok Bandare

International Airport of Lombok Bandare :
You can reach Lombok straight away using the International Airport of Lombok Bandare. This solution avoid long transit and wasting time.

Indonesian VISA

  • You can get a Visa On Arrival (VOA) issued at Lombok’s Airport or Bali's Airport. For several European countries the Tourist Visa is free and is valid for 30 days.
  • The Paid Tourist Visa can be extended for further 30 days, giving it a total of 60 days and have to be bought on your Arrival at the airport. The free tourist 30 days visa can not be extended.
  • For other countries : The cost US 35 (approximate price) and has to be paid in cash.
