PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Course

The PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver Course is designed for children over 12 years old who want to continue there training to the second level of the PADI certification programs to feel more confortable and to extend there diving knowledge. At the age of 15 years old there PADI Junior Advance Open Water certification will be automatically upgrade to the PADI Advanced Open Water certification.

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences. That’s what the PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. Your child don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so your child can start right after earning his PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification. The course helps build confidence and expand your child scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You child try out different introduction to specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your Instructor. Your child log dives and develop capabilities as your child find new ways to have fun scuba diving.

The PADI Junior Advanced Open Water take place in 2 or 3 days depending on the choice of your child Adventure Dives (introduction to a specialty). Your child have to realise 5 Adventure Dives to complete the program. Two of them are impose the Adventure Navigation Dive to master you orientation underwater and the Adventure Deep Dive opening you the door of the 21 m depth until the age of 15 years old, after what you child can pick up three other in a large choice of Adventure Dives.

Because in DSM Dive we focus on small groups, you child will get the maximum of it with the maximum of security.

At the age of 15 years old your child certification will be automatically upgrade to PADI Advanced Open Water and your child will be not limited any more to 21 m but to 30 m

When you arrive on Gili Trawangan, we need you to confirm your course start by dropping by the dive center the day before your course is scheduled to start. During this time, you can fill out all the prerequisite paperwork and even get a head start on studying your dive theory by taking one of our book with you to your accommodation.

The program is divided in 2 parts : Theory / Open Water Dive.

The Theory
The theory is divided into 5 chapters concerning the Adventure Dive you child have chosen. For each chapter, you child will have to fill a "knowledge review" and debrief on it with his Instructor.

The Open Water Dive
To complete the training you child have to do 5 open water dives, the fun part! On each Adventure Open Water Diver your child are going to perform a certain number of underwater activities defined with the Instructor before the dive.

The certification
The PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver license is recognized worldwide and valid for life, allowing a children from 12 years old to 15 years old to dive under the supervision of an adult certified diver to 21 meters. At the age of 15 years old the certification will be automatically upgrade to PADI Advanced Open Water allowing the diver to go to 30m.

The Adventure Dive is an introduction to a specialty introducing you kid to the planification of an activity under water. He will have to performe five of them, two of them are imposed and tree other will be pick up on your child choice.

• Being already PADI Junior Open Water Diver or Equivalent Level of Certification
• The autorisation and approval of a Parent / Guardian

• Please send us an email, call us or drop by at DSM Dive to make your reservation at least 24 h in advance
• There are strict restrictions when flying to altitude after diving. You need to wait a minimum of 18 hours after your last dive, so please plan your flights and mountain hiking trips accordingly.
